The Sacrament of Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation gives us a new sense of peace, strength and purpose.

Receiving the Sacrament at Church

Each week Confessions are heard from 3:00 to 3:45 PM (just prior to our 4:00 PM Mass) in the Cathedral. Individual, private Confession is also available to our parishioners by calling the parish office at 472-3970 to arrange for an appointment.  We also offer Seasonal Penitential Services that are held in Advent and Lent – Be sure to keep an eye on our Bulletin for the dates.

First Reconciliation Registration Form 2021

Children who have already celebrated Baptism and the Sacrament of First Reconciliation are invited to participate in this preparation.

Usually children are aged 7 years and older when they participate in our parish preparation program to prepare to receive this sacrament.

“We Prepare for Reconciliation” program consists of parent and child meetings followed by take-home work in the above mentioned booklet.  At the first meeting, the parents will learn more about the Sacrament of First Reconciliation and how the take-home study program works. Booklets are given to the children at this meeting.

Meeting dates are advertised in our parish bulletin prior to the beginning of preparation.

As with all of our sacraments for children, the preparation process takes place “in the midst of the community” especially when it gathers at the Sunday assembly throughout the year. Children preparing for the reception of the sacraments are invited to participate in the Sunday Celebration of the Word with Children at the 9:00 AM mass.
