Reconciliation

SACRAMENT OF FIRST RECONCILIATION FOR CHILDREN FOR THE FIRST TIME 2026

The Sacrament of First Reconciliation, also known as Confession or Penance, is a significant milestone in the Catholic faith, allowing individuals to seek forgiveness for their sins and restore their relationship with God. Children who have already celebrated Baptism are invited to participate in this preparation.

The first Welcome Gathering will be held Sunday, 25 January 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Parish Hall. Please register now by completing the following REGISTRATION FORM and return it by email to: office@procathedral.ca  Complete Schedule of Preparation Dates Here

As with all of our sacraments for children, the preparation process takes place “in the midst of the community” especially when it gathers at the Sunday assembly throughout the year. Children preparing for the reception of the sacraments are invited to participate in the Sunday Celebration of the Word with Children at the 9:00 AM mass.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation gives us a new sense of peace, strength and purpose.   Each week Confessions are heard from 3:00 to 3:45 PM (just prior to our 4:00 PM Mass) in the Cathedral. Individual, private Confession is also available to our parishioners by calling the parish office at 472-3970 to arrange for an appointment.  We also offer Seasonal Penitential Services that are held in Advent and Lent – Be sure to keep an eye on our Bulletin for the dates.
