Canadians agree that palliative care is an important component of healthcare that needs to be accessible and available to all. Identifying palliative care as an insured health service covered under the Canada Health Act is essential so that ALL Canadians can access palliative care. Equally important is for the federal government to develop a national strategy for uniform standards and delivery of palliative care as defined by the World Health Organization. To print, sign and mail a postcard asking that our government make Palliative Care available to all Canadians, view: CWL Palliative Care Postcard

With this year’s theme: ‘Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow,’ close to $9 500 was raised in support of numerous charities including: Right to Life, School Breakfast Programs, Meals on Wheels, North Bay Food Bank, Gathering Place, Catholic Charities, Development & Peace and the Bursary Program.
“Our volunteers created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and I am blessed to be surrounded by a team of experienced, dedicated and hard-working women whose efforts produced another successful Christmas Bazaar,” stated Lisa Henry, Pro-Cathedral CWL Bazaar & Tea convener. “The support of the church community never fails to bring hope to those who need it the most in North Bay.”
The national CWL theme of “Inspired by the Spirit Women respond to God’s call’ comes to fruition in each of the CWL volunteers and supporters through this Bazaar and Tea. It enables the CWL to continue the vital work of giving back to our local and global communities.
